90% of all golfers slice a golf ball,
00:06
which means that when they're starting down,
00:10
regardless of the backswing, the hands are moving out,
00:13
away from the body, the club is coming down steeply
00:17
with an open club face.
00:19
Whether or not they're scooping at impact,
00:21
chicken winging at impact, the bottom line,
00:23
the club face is open.
00:25
It's too steep of an angle, they slice it.
00:28
What do they do to fix it, and how can you fix it?
00:30
There's a simple exercise that will allow you
00:33
to redirect your hands in the direction back and down
00:37
that's gonna be more consistent back and down
00:40
in terms of shape like all the great ball strikers do.
00:43
And basically, if I take this in my right hand
00:46
and I turn my body back,
00:48
notice left shoulder's down and back,
00:50
right arm is in a good
00:51
what I call almost a throwing position,
00:53
as I make my move back from here, I'm going to
00:57
try to release and hit the golf ball or in that vicinity
01:01
and you're gonna start to feel something different
01:03
with your hand direction.
01:04
Instead of moving way out away from the body,
01:06
you're gonna start feeling the delivery from the inside,
01:09
and then as you release the ball,
01:10
that direction is what we want for good ball striking.
01:13
Try to do that drill, it's very, very simple to do.
